Honey is a cream labradoodle (labrador x curly). Because Curly, her dad has mini poodle in his ancestry then his pups can be smaller than him at full growth. Honey we think is going to be a small medium so shorter and slighter than a Labrador. Bizarrely we called her Honey from birth (due to her colour) and this was independentely picked for her by her new parents as well! Below - typical labradoodle she loves to carry sticks.

Long time no speak. We do hope that you and your family had a Happy Christmas and all good wishes for 2006. Honey has had an eventful last few weeks. First she got a thorn deeply embedded in her eye, which had to be removed under a general. The very next week she ate 50 chocolate tree decorations. The vet took this very seriously indeed and pumped her stomach out, then put her on a heart monitor and kept a close watch on her. Fortunately she pulled through, but we made sure from that point on that there was no chocolate in sight!! She really has grown into a beautiful dog, much admired by all. She has so many dog 'friends' which we meet up with regularly. I might add that she is certainly one of the better behaved of the group. She is such a social being and adores both dog and human company. We are all loving the walking and discovered that in general other dog owners are such a friendly bunch. There are two other Labradoodles that Honey meets up with quite regularly, but they are both male and mixed with Standard Poodle, so are absolutely huge in comparison with her. She seems to have slowed down in her growth of late and is really quite petite . We would love the opportunity for Honey to meet up with any of her siblings. |

Honey in her new crate with her bed toys and blankets |

"Honey is turning into a real little character. She loves her crate and happily goes there both throughout the day and at bedtime. I now don't have to let her out until around 7am (what bliss!). She has made some puppy friends and certainly enjoys joining in rough and tumble. Because of us going on holiday end of next week she won't be starting puppy classes until after we get back but she loves meeting new people. We took her out on her first official walk yesterday. Well I wouldn't actually call it a walk, more like a 'sniffathon'. We are very careful that she doesn't walk too far at the moment and so I ended up carrying her home, trust me she has gained weight!!! Honey very proudly found a pine cone on the walk and has been carrying it around ever since. She loves to retrieve but is not too sure about water yet. It rained quite heavily one day and there was no way she was going to venture out into the garden without much encouragement from me and of course I ended up getting soaked! "

"Well at last I have found 5 minutes to give you an update on 'Honey'. Firstly I must say rearing 3 children was nothing in comparison to 1 tiny puppy!! The journey home was noisy but uneventful. Obviously she was very stressed, but very excited to meet the children, who were overjoyed that we had brought her back. She spent most of the first evening in my arms but settled well in her travel crate later on. She cried a lot the first night (to be expected I know). Luckily I had a quiet week so was able to spend a lot of time with her, getting her into a routine. She has come on a lot of the school runs with me, where she has been a complete hit. She loves people, especially children. 1 week on she now sleeps in the kitchen in her metal pen, which is very happy with and takes herself there throughout the day when she needs quiet time. She adores being out in the garden and loves to play. A real little tinker. Today she had a health check at the vets and all went well. She is completely part of the family and we love her to bits"
