Introducing doodleDogs' Dash, our celebrity Doodle!

Here is an update on Dash, who is now 4 months old.  He's had an exciting time with us, we never dreamed of the things that would happen after we brought him home!  From the first time we carried him in, he blended instantly and knew he was part of our family.  He REALLY loved the cat, but unfortunately the cat was unwell and didn't want to play much!  He has given up chasing the cat so much and now is focused on stealing the cat's food!  He loves to play, especially with balls in the garden, and loves to run!

He is in the process of getting new teeth, and he chews on ANYTHING he can find – even glass!  He jumped up onto the counter top in the kitchen and a glass fell down.  When I got to the kitchen, he didn't step back into the glass, but had a nice chunk in his mouth!  I was scared to death he had cut his mouth up, but luckily he hadn't.  His favourite things to chew on are: full rolls of kitchen roll, socks, underpants, shoes, pens, toy spaceships, and any type of paper – homework, letters, and bills!  He has things to chew on, but it isn't so much fun as the stuff he KNOWS he isn't supposed to have!  He has this look that says, “Ha-ha, you didn't put this away!”  On your site you mention “a hint of mischief” – I think Dash got a double dose!  He does balance himself out, he can be just the little angel without a care in the world who wants to cuddle up and be a little puppy again and try to fit in my lap!

He learns very quickly, and we are still housetraining him.  Not as many accidents these days, usually only when I'm busy and not paying attention.  He starts puppy classes in 2 weeks, and I'm so excited for him, I know he's going to love it. He's learned hand signals along with the commands for ‘sit' and ‘stay', and can actually ‘stay' for quite a long period of time – even when I'm putting his food bowl down – which is challenging for him to do because he LOVES his food!  He also loves cut up apples and carrots, so he has those for treats too.

His coat is getting really wavy on the back and darkening a bit.  His face is getting scruffier, too – I can't wait to see how he will develop.  It seems he changes every week in some way or another, he's growing so fast!

If you can't tell, we are very proud of Dash.  As you know, we were on Richard Hammond's 5 O'Clock Show when they were featuring poodle cross-breed dogs.  Dash was just so cute and behaved very well, he had everyone at the studio wanting to take him home!  He impressed the editor of Dogs Today magazine, who was also on the show, and she arranged for us to attend their next photo shoot so he could be on the cover!  When we went to the studio, they took loads of pictures.  The photographer even said Dash was the easiest puppy he'd ever worked with, so it only took around 30 minutes to get the shots they needed.   The magazine just came out, and I'm sure you're as proud of him as we are!

He's got such a wonderful spirit in him; I wouldn't trade him for anything!!!

Dash is a medium apricot cream Labradoodle fathered by Curly (mum is a Golden Labrador). He is a celebrity already having been on primetime TV and also been the cover dog for "Dogs Today".
